Austin Virtual League
Austin Virtual League(AVL) is the largest virtual reality community group in Austin. I had the privilege of being the Lead Event Organizer from 2019-2023. My goal at AVL was to empower the Austin consumer virtual reality community with access and information on the newest and best experiences in our industry.
Business achievements
While part of AVL, I was able to provide over 2000 people tailored VR experiences. As Lead Event Organizer I cultivated partnerships with Capital Factory, SXSW Gaming, Huston Tillitson, 360 VR ATX and more to provide affordable event spaces. I developed relationships with VR developers like Owlchemy, Mighty Coconut, Beat Games, Chicken Waffle and more; showcasing their games and providing product testing opportunities.
Technical achievements
By organizing and managing events and convention booths at Capital Factory, SXSW Gaming, Huston Tillitson, 360 VR ATX and more. I learned how to procure equipment, software rights, and events space. I recruited managed and trained staff. I created safety, sanitation, and comfort standards. Before and during events I developed and implemented technical operations best practice to diagnose and solve technical issues more quickly.
Austin Virtual League at SXSW
AVL hosted booths at 2018 and 2019 SXSW gaming conventions. We were able to put over 500 people into a headset for 3 days at SXSW 2019. SXSW has helped make our events possible and allowed us to reach so many people.
Austin Virtual League at Capital Factory
AVL has been a proud member of capital factory since 2018. We have hosted dozens of meetups at their Austin offices. Capital Factory has supported us and helped make our events possible.
